SERVING VICTIMS
The District Attorney’s Victim
Services Division makes the criminal justice system more humane
and accessible to victims of violent crime by providing
comprehensive advocacy and support.
Victim Services assists more than 3,000 victims a year, and has
been providing services to victims and witnesses of crime and
violence for 21 years.
Victim Services is the home of several programs including:
Victim Witness Assistance
Victim Compensation
Special Emphasis Homicide
Special Emphasis Elder Abuse
Special emphasis Child Abuse
Referrals to other agencies
If you or your family has been a victim of a crime and need
assistance, you can call our office at (601)968-6568. Our VAC will
speak with you and determine how we can assist you. All programs
focus on the needs of victims, witnesses, and survivors of crime
and violence. All services are free of cost to victims. The
Division is located at the District Attorney’s Office, 407 East
Pascagoula Street, Jackson, MS 39225.

Services for Families of Homicide Victims
Victims of Crime Compensation Program
The VAC for the District Attorney’s Office will provide victims
with assistances, services and support as they move through the
criminal process. The victims will be informed as to the
significant developments in the processing of cases and provides
support during the trial process.
